Zar Media Group is a B2B digital agency specialising in client portals, workflow integration, firm websites managed alongside those portals, and compliance-focused digital solutions for accountants and financial service providers.

When you use our contact page (chat assistant or enquiry flow), your message is delivered to our inbox through our website hosting infrastructure and Resend (see section 5).

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you use our website, limited technical information may be processed by our hosting and analytics providers. Google Analytics 4 is only loaded and used for audience measurement after you click Accept on our cookie banner (we use Google Consent Mode so analytics storage stays off until then, and the GA script is not fetched until you accept). If you click Decline, we do not load GA4 or measure your browsing on this site. See our Cookie Policy for details.

  • IP address (anonymised in GA4 when enabled)

  • Professional advisors — auditors or legal counsel, under strict confidentiality

5.1 Cross-Border Transfers (POPIA Section 72)

Some service providers we use (including Google Analytics, Vercel, and Resend) may process personal information in countries outside South Africa, where those providers host or operate their services. Where personal information is transferred cross-border, we rely on appropriate safeguards permitted under POPIA Section 72, including contractual protections with operators. You may request further details about these safeguards by contacting our Information Officer.

6. Data Retention

  • Contact page enquiries: Retained for 3 years from last contact
  • Newsletter subscriptions: Retained until you unsubscribe
  • Analytics data: Retained for 14 months in Google Analytics (default)
  • Client project data: Retained for 5 years after project completion for legal purposes

7. Your Rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Delete your personal information (right to erasure)
  • Object to or restrict certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing), including analytics cookies via Cookie preferences in our website footer
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa
